Interaction between the people of Eastern Africa was there before the advent of colonialism. It was formalized, strengthened during the colonial period and got a shot in the Arm after the independence of the three countries of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, when the three countries formed the East African Community (EAC) in 1967. This interaction continues to take place especially in areas of infrastructure and trade with the neighboring countries of Ethiopian, Southern Sudan, Eastern Congo and others.

12.06.2008 :: Closing remarks to the Peoples Progressive Party Delegates Conference
Mr. Mushega shared some ideas with the party delegates, some of which were old friends, some future friends. He pointed out that it is not good to think that because you have made new friends you abandon those you meet as a student, in associations, struggles, religious organizations etc. Everything has its place. Some of us have beaten our fingers before, so lets us be careful not to repeat past mistakes and without shame blame history.

Mr. Mushega was asked by the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee to give the committee his honest views and indeed he gave his honest views and informed the honorables members that even though some may not agree with his views, they are never the less his honest and well considered views.
